Air Show Performer Safety Stand-Down

Monday, December 10th 2012 3:00 pm - 5:45 pm

Champagne 3/4

The annual air show performer safety stand-down at the ICAS Convention has become an opportunity for air show pilots to learn from past accidents and incidents, and discuss the on-going challenges that air show pilots face each season. For 2012, ICAS is restructuring the format and the content of this annual safety session, to put less emphasis on the details of recent accidents and devote more time and attention to trends in accident statistics, with a focus on providing practical, actionable information that will help air show pilots practice and perform more safely during the 2013 season and beyond. This year's performer safety stand-down will also focus on a real-time exercise designed to develop a database of information on emergency extraction procedures for each individual aircraft in the air show "fleet." If you're an active air show performer, we request that you make room in your convention schedule for this important and informative session. And, so that there is ample room for performers and so that the conversations can be conducted frankly, we ask that non-performers not attend this session.
