On air shows, it's been a busy and productive year at the FAA. In this session, FAA National Aviation Events Specialist (NAES) Sue Gardner will update members on some of those issues, including aerobatic practice areas (APAs), the status of the revised Aerobatic Competency Evaluation (ACE) Manual, the FAA's 15-day practice requirement for air show pilots, Practice Days for Airshows, ongoing efforts to simplify the process by which air shows request Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs) for air shows, new developments in securing dedicated radio frequencies for air show event organizers, and a FAA project to clarify how small rocket launches may be conducted at air shows. The session will also include an overview of upcoming changes and timeline for publication addressing policy and guidance for all "Aviation Events," to include Air Racing, Balloon Events, and Parachute Authorizations. This session will also be your opportunity to ask the panel of FAA Aviation Event Specialists your most pressing questions about air show regulations now and in the future.
