ICAS Regions Finalize Plans for 2014 Winter Regional Conferences

January 9th, 2014
Mark your calendars and make 2014 the year to attend as many of the ICAS regional conferences as possible. Remember, your conference venue is not limited to where you are based. We encourage you to experience the different regional offerings and give yourself a chance to get connected to other air show communities. All of these events are not just educational, but fun, too…and a good way to interact with your air show colleagues in advance of the 2014 air show season. SouthWest Council of Air Shows (SWCAS) Conference, February 7th & 8th, Sheraton Grand Hotel, Sacramento, California: The SWCAS Conference will begin with a session on “How well do you know the air show box?” on Friday, February 7, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the host hotel. Following this initial education session, delegates will participate in a networking session/cocktail reception from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday’s agenda includes a full schedule of programming that begins at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 5:00 p.m. Topics to be covered include UAVs, Drones and Videocopters in the Air Show Environment; Pilot Safety Issues and an Update on Changes to the ACE Manual; Conducting an Air Show under Challenging Circumstances; Insurance Insights for Air Shows and Performers; and Air Show Marketing and Public Relations; with performer showcases throughout the day and a roundtable brainstorming session of creative ideas for air shows and air show performers. The 2014 SWCAS Conference will conclude with a hosted dinner on Saturday night. Historically, the NECAS Conference has received high marks for both the learning opportunities that this well established event provides AND the chance to meet with, get to know, and establish useful working relationships with air show professionals from throughout the northeastern United States and eastern portion of Canada. And, once again this year, the world-class meeting facilities at the Niagara Falls ARB will help ensure that the meeting is held in the best possible location at extraordinarily reasonable prices. Final plans for the conference’s extensive educational programming will soon be available on the NECAS website. For more information: www.necas.org. 2014 NorthWest Council of Air Shows (NWCAS) Conference, February 28th and March 1st, DoubleTree Hotel, Seattle Airport, Seattle, Washington: Whether you are a producer, performer, air boss, announcer or support provider, this conference is guaranteed to have the networking, contacts and best practices that will ensure 2014 is your best air show season yet! The program will include a “best practices brainstorming” session, a performers’ showcase, as well as relevant and engaging keynote speakers. And, for the first time this year, NWCAS will include an exhibit area for performers and service providers to promote their businesses. For more information: www.nwcas.org.
