Champagne 1

Following a near-complete rewrite of FAA air show policy/guidance at the beginning of 2019, many ICAS members have struggled with understanding and implementing the directives and requirements contained in those revised documents. In this one-hour session, you’ll learn what aspects created challenges, how air show professionals and regulators responded to those challenges, and what you need to know to decrease the number and frequency of those challenges in 2020 and beyond. Although the session will cover a wide range of critical issues, it will include discussions on the January 1, 2020 requirement that all shows have an air boss with an FAA-issued Letter of Authorization, Dynamic Maneuvering on FAA-issued Statement of Aerobatic Competency cards, and tips and hints on developing, documenting and implementing the new emergency requirements made of all U.S. air shows. The FAA’s new national aviation events coordinator will explain lessons learned during the 2019 season and new issues that have come up during the just completed season. He will also provide answers to your questions on how the FAA monitors and regulates different aspects of the air show business.
